A demeaning video was uploaded on YouTube against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi after which an FIR was registered against Sundar Pichai, Google CEO,and 17 others in Varanasi.
The FIR was registered by Girija Shanker at the police station, said SHO Amit Mishra of Bhelupur.
The accused were registered at the police station on the court order under section 60 of the IT Act and 500, 504, 506 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. Charges under section 67 of information technology act have also been cited against the accused.
Six days after 18 people, including Sundar Pichai, were booked for defaming the Prime Minister, three other company executives were booked over a video song which allegedly defamed PM Narendra Modi.
A Gauriganj resident Girija Shankar Jaiswal registered an FIR which was taken into action by an Additional Chief Magistrate-3 of Varanasi.
A video called “country seller” was shared in WhatsApp group which was later seen by Girija Shanker Jaiswal.
The video included talks like country selling by the Prime Minister.
The video included the voice of Vishal Singh and his wife Sapna Bodh where they were singing a song using foul and unparliamentary language demeaning Narendra Modi, said Girija.
After Girija objected over the video, another video was uploaded by singer Vishal Singh where he mentioned Girija’s “name and number” in the comment box.
After this incident Girija received 8500 death threat calls on his number.
Girijashankar claimed that he wrote to Google and YouTube company officials to withdraw the video but no response was initiated from their side.
The names against which the FIR has been filed includes Google CEO-Sundar Pichai, India supervisor-Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Film Director-Kenneth Hau Wai Lau, Vishal Gazipuri, Sapna Bodh, Chandan Kumar, C.S. Badal, Sujit Gautam, Hriday Raj Kapoor, Suraj Krishna, Sanjeev Kumar, Ashish Nayak, B.K. Singh, S.N.Budh, Pankaj, VC Music Label Company and Jai Bhim Recording Studio.
Is Sundar Pichai Involved?
Names of three top officers of Google and Sundar Pichai were scrapped after Varanasi police didn’t find any proof of their involvement in the matter.
SHO Amit Mishra has said that the FIR has been registered against 18 people and an action regarding investigation will be initiated as soon as possible.
