Important Highlights From Narendra Modi’s Independence Day Speech

Today India is celebrating its 72nd Independence Day. It is the day when India got freedom from the British Rule. In every state of India, Independence day is celebrated with the same joy and excitement. Every year on this day the current Prime Minister of our nation gives a speech in Delhi. And today on the 72nd Independence Day, our honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi presented a speech at Red Fort, Delhi.

He started his speech by saying,”We are celebrating the 72nd Independence Day in a positive atmosphere. Our daughters have crossed seven seas and colored the seas in the colors of our flag.”

In his speech, he mentioned how far Indian Economy has come since BJP has come into the ruling. He said, “We are celebrating this Independence Day when every Indian anywhere in the world is proud that India is the sixth biggest economy in the world today. India used to be counted in the ‘Fragile Five’ in the world. But today, India is a multi-billion dollar investment.”


In his speech, he also introduced the new policies coming up. He mentioned the latest mega healthcare scheme which is called the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan’. Narendra Modi said this scheme will be launched this year on 25th September, which is the birth Anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. This scheme will focus on the well being and better treatment and medical care of the poor people of our country.

Narendra Modi also mentioned in his speech of Independence day that how the country has  developed since he has become the Prime Minister.  “If we don’t look at where we started, we will not be able to how far we have come. If we take 2013 as the base year, you’ll be surprised to learn the pace of progress… The world used to talk about electricity blackouts, bottlenecks in India. Today it says the “sleeping elephant” has started walking”.

He went forward to address the rape issue in our country. In his speech, he said, “Rapes are being tackled sternly. It should be widely reported how rapists are being sent to the gallows for their crimes. Rule of law is supreme, no one can take law into their hands.”
