Phunsukh Wangdu was played by Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots inspired by a man named Sonam Wangchuk. According to his Twitter account, he is a research engineer, and with the new appeals going forward, he has asked Indians to boycott Chinese products.
In the nine-minute video, he called on citizens to ban and remove Chinese software (apps such as TikTok) in a week, and hardware like phones in a year because throwing your phone away may take some time.
Wangchuk’s most recent YouTube video is titled China with China Ko Jawaab Sena Degi Bullet Se, Naagrik Dengey Wallet Se. In the video, we can see him in Ladakh behind the Himalayas on the Indus River. It begins with addressing growing tensions on the Indo-China border and emphasizing the responsibility of the people of India to boycott Chinese products.
In the video, he said that China is not only making things worse with India but also with Taiwan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong as well. This can further lead to a greater global tension for the entire nation and the world as well.
He said that citizens need to show up to make China unstable and also the Indian army will do their job. He said “Is Baar Bharat ki bullet power se zyada wallet power kaam aaegi” ( The power of wallets of the people of the nation will help more than the bullets of Indian Army)
He further added, “Isliye agar humare desh ke 130 crore log aur baki ke 3 crore log jo bahar hai, sab milkar agar boycott made in China abhiyaan shuru karte hai to ho sakta hai ki sari duniya bhi yehi kare aur China ki arthvyavastha bigad jaaye.“ (If all 130 crore Indians including the three crores Indians living outside India starts boycotting Chinese good, the people of other countries may do the same and China will face a backfire in their economy).
