NEW DELHI: Baba Ramdev, who had earlier courted controversy with his remarks on allegedly defaming allopathy and modern scientific medicines, has yet again gone viral.
A new video of the yoga guru went viral on Wednesday in which he can be heard saying that no one’s father can arrest him…but they are making noise…arrest Ramdev, Thug Ramdev…They are following trends … so let them. This came after the Indian Medical Association (IMA) called for his arrest on provocation charges for his remarks that “allopathy is stupid science.”
One such video was shared on Twitter by Congress leader Gaurav Pandhi in which he tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah asking them if any action will be taken against Baba Ramdev.
Earlier, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had written a letter to PM Narendra Modi urging him to take action to stop the alleged misinformation campaign by Baba Ramdev. The IMA made an appeal to PM to file a case on the Baba Ramdev, the owner of Patanjali products on sedition charges for “spreading fear” against covid-19 vaccination.
The medical association also praised PM Modi for emphasizing the importance of vaccination in all public addresses. Adding to this, IMA also requested him to give motivation for vaccination in the forthcoming “Mann Ki Baat” episodes.
According to IMA, yoga guru claimed Allopathy as ‘stupid science’ and that thousands of doctors died despite taking both doses of the vaccine while lakhs of people succumbed to death due to intake of allopathic medicines for the treatment of covid-19.
IMA, the professional organization of Modern Medicine Doctors said that all of its members have been following the guidelines and protocols issued by the Ministry of Health through ICMR or the National task force in the treatment offered to millions of people coming to hospitals. And if someone claims that allopathic treatment has killed people, it is straightway challenging the Ministry. The Health Ministry has issued a protocol for the IMA, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), and Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) in a matter of the usage of allopathic medicines for treating/ helping covid-29 patients.
The apex medical body also mentioned that it respects, acknowledges, and compliments all systems of medicine especially our Indian system of Ayurvedic Medicine, and also promotes the drugs promoted by the AYUSH ministry as each system has its own role in helping people differently.
IMA informed that in the battle against coronavirus, modern medicine doctors have been fighting on the frontline day and night, putting their own lives at risk for treating patients. Amidst this, people like Baba Ramdev by making false statements are spreading rumors and creating a panic situation or hesitations in the minds of the common man thereby discouraging them from getting vaccinated or getting allopathic treatment.
On these allegations made by IMA, the Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust has denied the fact that Baba Ramdev is misleading people by making “unlearned” statements against allopathy and defaming scientific medicine.
India lost 753 doctors in the first wave and 513 in the second wave of deadly coronavirus. These frontline warriors are contributing more than enough to save lives. Making allegations against them or their modern medical treatment is definitely not going to make an easy way for yog guru.
