On the seventh anniversary of the Narendra Modi dispensation at the Centre, crores of BJP karyakartas will fan out in one lakh villages across India to do service work. The ruling party is celebrating the day as “Seva Diwas” in a virtual way as the country reels from a deadly second wave of coronavirus.
BJP President JP Nadda wished heartiest congratulations to Prime Minister Modi on the completion of seven years of his government and best wishes to the entire NDA family. He also tweeted that under the leadership of Modi ji, the BJP workers will celebrate this day as Seva Diwas by doing service work in 1 lakh villages.
He also targeted the opposition parties saying that while the BJP party workers and leaders have been carrying out relief work amid the pandemic, members of the opposition have gone into quarantine.
Addressing party workers on the seventh anniversary, the BJP chief said that all the union Ministers and Ministers in BJP-ruled states have been asked to serve people in at least two villages keeping in mind the Covid-19 protocols and lockdown guidelines to celebrate the occasion. And those who are not able to make physical appearances must ensure to conduct work virtually via video meetings.
Instead of celebrating, BJP has decided to organize relief works across the country by providing Covid-related assistance to villages – the distribution of dry rations, sanitizers, face masks, and oximeters.
These efforts come as PM Modi faces an outburst of criticism over his government’s failed management of the COVID-19 crisis. According to some sources, public anger and rage over the scale of damage and loss of lives in the second covid wave is a matter of worry for the BJP and also the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Meanwhile, the Congress Party’s youth wing has been active and visible in efforts to help people during the pandemic.
