Amazon Web Services Will Invest $2.77 Billion To Set Up A Cloud Infrastructure Region In India

Amazon has currently invested a magnificent amount of investment of $2.8 Billion to launch the AWS Cloud region in Hyderabad.

The investment will allow the launch in the Telangana, southern state region of India, said KT Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Municipal Administration and Urban Development and Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana.

The second infrastructure region of AWS in the Asia Pacific region will be built in India. The new region will be a support to new developers, education enterprises, various start-ups, and non-profit organizations via applications serving from data centers located in India.

The more cloud regions establish in India, the easier it will be for the e-commerce giant to localize the nation’s data policy.

This compliance will definitely help Amazon attract customers and has sparked high-profile businesses including customers like Ashok Leyland, life insurance firm Aditya Birla Capital, Edtech giant Byju’s, Axis Bank, Bajaj Capital, ClearTax, Dream11, Edelweiss, Freshworks, HDFC Life, Mahindra Electric, Ola, Oyo, Policybazaar, RBL Bank, redBus, Sharda University, Swiggy, Tata Sky and Zerodha.

Technology giants Microsoft and Google have also expanded their clutches through cloud services in India. Amazon has, similarly, formed an alliance with Airtel, one of the largest telecom operators in India.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) will now invest $2.77 Billion in their cloud infrastructure region in India, by the mid of 2022.

The cloud region setup was in Mumbai, established in 2016. The major outcome of using the cloud services, as claimed by Amazon, is the saved money in their business proceedings and saving the data-keeping users from investing in expensive servers.

The sudden increased use of these cloud services peaked during the pandemic when video streaming, online classes, video conferencing was the easiest way of communication.

The new Hyderabad region will consist of 3 availability zones which will be joining the already placed 26 zones across Asia.

The 26 zones are in India, Australia, Greater China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore and globally AWS is composed of 77 availability zones with 24 infrastructures. 15 more new plans are under consideration to form in 5 more AWS regions in India, Indonesia, Japan, Spain, and Switzerland.

Each availability zone is equipped with self-cooling, independent power, and physical security for the purpose of not impacting the customer’s business continuity.

AWS has decided to invest in educational platforms of AWS academy and AWS educates to provide proper upskilling of local developers.
