According to the reports so far, locusts are active in Barmer, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Sikar, Jaipur districts of Rajasthan and Satna, Gwalior, Sethi, Rajgarh, Betul, Dewas, Agar Malwa districts of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, at present 200 locust circle offices (LCO) are working with the district administration and agricultural sector machinery of the affected states for survey and control.

With the coordination of state agriculture departments and local administration, the control operation of locusts is in full swing. Locust control offices have been set up in 21 districts in Rajasthan, 18 districts in Madhya Pradesh, one district in Punjab, and 2 districts in Gujarat. T

To deal with locusts, Temporary control camps have been set up in the desert areas of Rajasthan, Ajmer, Chittorgarh, and Dausa. Also in Mandsaur, Ujjain, and Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh and Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, till May 26, the locust circle office in coordination with the district administration and the state agriculture department has conducted a control operation against locusts in 47,308 hectares at a total of 303 places in Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
