Palghar Mob Lynching: On 16th April a piece of shocking news from Palghar came, which shows how one misunderstanding can horribly go wrong. Many sources are still not clear about whether it is a misunderstanding or planned.
A small village in Maharashtra’s Kokan division is Palghar. Nothing is more disturbing than what happens in Palghar. When we people are waiting at our home for this lockdown to end three people lost their lives, not because of the coronavirus COVID-19 but due to getting beaten to death by 100 people. Exact number of people is not clear who took part in this crime.
This small town has reported a horrific case of mob killing, On Thursday night after rumors of kidnappers, they were kidnapping kids for harvest organs, including kidney. Three people were killed on suspicion of being thieves or snatching children.
The people who killed these 3 suspects were Kasa taluka Gadch Chale village residents. This villagers got angry and came with sticks and stones, and started hitting these suspicious people. Angry visuals which you see in the video give you shock and goosebumps at the same time. People were filled with anger they didn’t even control by a team of police. Police try to save one 70-year-old man and 2 others. Two of them were sadhus, the other one is the driver of the car they were traveling in. They were beaten to death by a group of villagers, more than 100 people have been detained by police in this case.
The men who were killed have been identified as Sushil Giri Maharaj, Nilesh Telgane and Chikane Maharaj Kalpavrikshgiri aged 35,35,70 respectively. They were traveling to surat to attend a funeral. The villages thought that they were kidney smugglers
Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray commented on this incident. CM said there was no communal angle in the crime. Mr. Thackeray added that he also spoke to the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, regarding the issue.
Yogi Adityanath said that Maharashtra CM has informed that some persons have been arrested and the others are being identified. Strict action is needed against them.
Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadanvis demand for a high-level inquiry into the lynching of men. He twitted, “The cruelty with which the mob lynching in #Palghar happened, is beyond inhuman. I demand a High-Level Enquiry and strictest action be taken at the earliest.#Maharashtra #Mumbai”
